First National Scorecard on Progress in Payment Reform

The National Scorecard on Payment Reform is the first effort to measure progress in improving how health care is paid for in the United States. The Scorecard, released by Catalyst for Payment Reform and produced with support from The Commonwealth Fund and the California HealthCare Foundation, finds that just 11 percent of private payments to doctors and hospitals are tied to performance or designed to cut waste. Read a blog post exploring the Scorecard findings or listen to a recording of a March 25 webinar featuring Commonwealth Fund president David Blumenthal, M.D., and other experts discussing payment reform.
