Penny Andrew, a 2009–10 Harkness Fellow from New Zealand, recently published an article in Health Affairs on patient responses to disclosure-and-resolution programs in which health systems disclose adverse events to patients, apologize, and offer compensation.
Ewout van Ginneken, a 2011–12 Harkness Fellow from the Netherlands, and Bradford Gray, senior fellow at the Urban Institute and senior fellowship advisor to the Harkness fellows, have collaborated on a Commonwealth Fund issue brief that examines European approaches to health care for undocumented migrants. The issue brief looks at how undocumented migrants' access to care is handled in European health systems; policies and practices vary greatly across countries and have become issues of intense debate.
