With support from The Commonwealth Fund, the National Governors Association (NGA) convened representatives from the 16 states that have received funding from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation to develop "Model Designs" for health care payment and delivery system reforms under the State Innovation Models initiative. At the event, participants discussed strategies for engaging payers, promoting population health, integrating health care delivery with public health and community resources, and reducing health risks for beneficiaries of public programs. A summary of themes discussed at the meeting and lessons learned is now available on the NGA website.
