The National Union of Supplementary Health Insurance Organizations, doctors' unions, and health insurers in France have come to an agreement on how to control rising physician fees, which have led to higher out-of-pocket expenses for patients. The new contract will reduce fees in exchange for better physician reimbursement by Social Security. Physicians who charge fees that are determined to be excessive will be subject to sanctions.
