The Australian government has launched a pilot program that will use the National Broadband Network, in select areas, to provide services to older Australians, people living with cancer, and those requiring palliative care. The services will be offered via videoconferencing when and where people need them. The program was introduced in response to a new law that provides Medicare rebates for telehealth consultations.
