State Decisions on the President’s Fix for Insurance Cancellations

To address the recent spate of health plan cancellations by insurers, President Obama's policy fix encourages, though doesn’t require, states and insurers to allow people to re-enroll in, and even renew, these plans. This means that health plans that do not comply with the Affordable Care Act protections set to go into effect in 2014 could remain in place through 2015.
