State Laws and Funding Disparities Hinder Marketplace Outreach and Enrollment

A two-part blog series examines the state laws and funding disparities that are hindering efforts to reach consumers and enroll them in health coverage through the marketplaces. In the first post, researchers from Georgetown University Health Policy Institute's Center on Health Insurance Reforms focus on the laws passed by 17 states that make it harder for health insurance marketplace navigators and others who conduct outreach and assist with enrollment to do their jobs. In the second post, they investigate how limited funding for education and enrollment help may be hampering outreach efforts in states with federally facilitated marketplaces.
