As part of the implementation of its landmark mental health package, the Gillard government is investing $20 million over three years to develop a new mental health virtual clinic. The virtual clinic will provide online counseling and self-guided online therapy to those with low to moderate depression and anxiety, among other mental disorders. The virtual clinic will be accessible through the government’s new mental health portal, or online database of mental health service, which is expected to be up and running in July.
