Implementing the ACA in Three Southern States

For our latest Q&A, we talked to Commonwealth Fund grantee Benjamin D. Sommers, M.D., lead author of a Health Affairs study about how the divergent approaches taken by Arkansas, Kentucky, and Texas in implementing the ACA are having very different effects on their low-income residents. He discusses these states’ decisions on whether to expand Medicaid eligibility, run their own health insurance marketplace, or use navigators to help people enroll.
