Ateev Mehrotra, M.D., M.P.H., M.S., is chair of the Department of Health Services, Policy, and Practice at the Brown University School of Public Health, as well as professor of health services, policy, and practice. Much of his work has focused on delivery innovations such as retail clinics, e-visits, and telemedicine and their impact on quality, costs, and access to health care. He is also interested in the role of consumerism and whether price transparency and public reporting of quality can impact patient decision-making. Previously he was an associate professor of health care policy and medicine at Harvard Medical School and a staff physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Mehrotra earned an M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco, and completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Boston, and earned an M.P.H. from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as an M.S. in epidemiology from Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
